Albetuck Land Development Services in Jarvisburg, NC

Albetuck Land Development handles land work from the first tree to the finished pad. We are based in Jarvisburg and we work across the Outer Banks and the surrounding mainland, on everything from single residential lots to commercial site packages.

Most customers come to us for one thing and find out we can handle the next three. A lot that needs clearing usually needs grading. A new build needs a septic system, a driveway, and utilities in the ground. An old structure has to come down before anything can go up. Below is the full list of what we do, with a link to more detail on each.

Six Categories, One Company

What We Do

Every category below is handled in-house with our own equipment and our own material. Follow a link for the detail on that service.

Land Clearing

Clearing takes a lot from overgrown or wooded to workable. That covers full tree removal, brush and underbrush, stumps, and hauling debris off the property. How a lot gets cleared depends on what is going on it afterward. A building lot gets treated differently than a pasture or a field edge, and a wooded coastal lot with soft ground gets approached differently again.

Forestry Mulching

Forestry mulching grinds standing brush, saplings, and small trees down into a layer of mulch that stays on the ground. There is no burn pile and nothing to haul off, and the ground is left covered rather than bare. It is a good fit for underbrush removal, clearing sight lines, opening up trails and property lines, and knocking back growth on land that has been left alone for a few years.

Septic Installation

Septic is one of our two main lines of work and it goes back to Clay's father's company in the 1980s. We install septic systems for new construction and replace failed or undersized systems on existing properties. Around here, septic drives the whole schedule of a build, and what a property can support depends on the soil, the water table, and the size of the house it is serving.

Site Work & Excavation

This is the broad category that covers getting a property from cleared to buildable. It includes grading and leveling, house pads and building pads, driveways and access roads, underground utility trenching and installation, drainage work, and general excavation and dirt work. If a builder needs a lot ready to pour on, this is the phase that gets it there.

Demolition

We take down structures and clear what is left behind, including houses, outbuildings, garages, sheds, slabs, and concrete. Demolition on a coastal lot is usually a first step rather than a standalone job, so we handle the takedown, the debris, and the grading that puts the site back in shape for whatever is going in next.

Sand, Rock & Material Hauling

We operate our own sand pit and haul sand, rock, gravel, and fill throughout the area. Material can be delivered to a job site or dropped for a customer handling their own work, and because we run the pit and the trucks, we are not waiting on an outside supplier to schedule a load. Common uses are driveway stone, fill and pad material, drainage rock, and topping off low spots on a property.

How Jobs Stack Up

Services That Get Paired Together

Very few of these jobs happen alone. Knowing what usually comes next saves customers a second round of phone calls and a second mobilization fee, so here is how the work tends to stack up in practice.

Land clearing and forestry mulching are frequently run on the same property, with clearing handling the heavy timber and the building footprint while mulching cleans up the perimeter, the brush, and the areas that are staying wooded. Clearing then almost always leads into site work, because once the trees are gone the lot still has to be graded, shaped, and drained before anything can be built on it.

Septic installation lines up naturally with site work and material hauling. The system has to be laid out around the driveway, the pad, and the utility runs, and backfill and cover material for the drain field usually comes off our own trucks. Getting all three planned at once avoids digging the same yard twice.

Demolition feeds directly into clearing, site work, and hauling. A structure comes down, the debris goes out, the slab or footings come up, and then the ground gets graded and filled so the lot is level and ready. Finally, sand, rock, and material hauling supports essentially everything else, whether it is stone for a new driveway after site work, fill to bring a low pad up to grade, or drainage rock behind a utility trench.

If a project involves more than one of these, tell us the whole scope when you call. It is easier and cheaper to sequence it correctly up front than to send equipment back out.
